The TFH PWR Sprintcar Power Tour will head to Kingaroy Speedway in Queensland’s South East for one night only on Wednesday night, January 6, 2027.

Located 100kms West of the Sunshine Coast (the home of the biggest Modified Sedan race in the world the time honoured “Kings Royal” every Australia Day weekend) Ian Boettcher Race Parts Kingaroy Speedway will pull on its first Power Tour round and the hard working executive committee is excited.

President Pacey Clegg and Vice President Trent Gosley imported Sprintcar star Ryan Newton to come up and co-announce the news this week at ‘the Peanut Bowl’ and the news was met with immediate excitement in the Kingaroy sporting and business community.

“We can’t wait for the Power Tour to come here on January 6,” explains Club President Trent Gosley “we’ve got the Modlites and the Junior F500’s and we’ve got more to come yet hopefully.”

“The Kings Royal has been our major drawcard for years and it will continue to be,” says Pacey Clegg, “but we’re also excited to expand the variety of the attractions for Speedway fans in the region and the chance to have the Sprintcar Power Tour is something we’re very excited about. We had the Sprintcar Speedweek Series last year and that was very successful so we can’t wait to bring the Power Tour to the region.”

Surprisingly the January 6 date will be Ryan Newton’s first experience at the Kingaroy Showgrounds venue.

“I’m surprised I haven’t raced here before this either,” Newton explains, “but from what I can see already it’s going to be a lot of fun running here. I did see highlights of the Speedweek round from here and it was racy on the top and the bottom. That’s what we want on the Power Tour when we come here too.”

For Series organiser Wade Aunger the opportunity to expand the track portfolio off the success of the first year is something that brings added value to teams, fans and the series sponsors.

“We were so grateful to Ryan Harris and his team running three rounds last year at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway last year but it I’m sure it took an enormous toll on his team and the fans having that much racing off the back of the Queensland Speedweek commitments. We really needed to find another venue in the Sunshine State to take the load off Toowoomba and also to expand our fan base and we were thrilled when Trent Gosley approached us during the Toowoomba week we ran asking if we’d consider Kingaroy. Having visited the town and the track yesterday I can honestly say I’m excited and grateful to the Kingaroy Club for their interest in picking up a round.”

The Kingaroy round is proudly supported by GK’s RV and Corbet’s Group.

More information on the other rounds of the PWR TFH Sprintcar Power Tour will follow soon.
