Australian Super Sedan racing is set for a major shake-up in 2027 with the introduction of the Hawks Industrial Solutions Sue Hawkings Silver Crown, a spectacular new two-night event at Hi-Tec Oils Toowoomba Speedway that will become the richest standalone Super Sedan race in the country.

The inaugural Silver Crown will feature a massive $20,000 winner’s cheque, innovative race formats and a unique shootout system designed to reward consistency while creating maximum excitement for competitors and fans alike that will be held over two nights 21 & 22 May 2027 alongside the $5,000 to win Production Sedan Money in the Bank 50 lapper.

Night one will see drivers contest heat races before being split into twin 25-lap Preliminary A Features. The winners and runners-up from those races will earn automatic passage into night two’s Gold and Silver Shootouts, effectively locking themselves into the front rows of the feature race.

Night two introduces a dramatic three-tiered Bronze, Silver and Gold Shootout format, with drivers battling over timed laps for prime starting positions in the main event.

The championship-deciding A Main will be a gruelling 75 green laps, with rolling laps under caution not counting, ensuring fans receive every lap of uninterrupted racing action. A mandatory fuel stop between laps 25 and 40 will add another strategic element to the richest prize in Australian Super Sedan racing.

The Silver Crown format delivers the perfect combination of endurance, strategy and outright speed while honouring the legacy of Sue Hawkings through the generous support of her son Matt and his business Hawks Industrial Solutions

With a record purse, a completely fresh format and some of the biggest names in Australian Super Sedan racing expected to converge, the Hawks Industrial Solutions Sue Hawkings Silver Crown is poised to become one of the marquee events on the national speedway calendar perfectly scheduled a month after the Ian Boettcher Super Sedan Classic also earmarked at toowoomba on 23 & 24 April 2026 as part of the venues 50th anniversary race meeting.
